Surface Blemishes

Floor seals are not permanent impenetrable barriers to staining; fluid contaminants, left on the floor for more than 30 minutes, may produce minor discoloration. Such marks may be minimised by the following methods.
In all cases, remove spillage as quickly as possible and wipe over floor with a damp cloth.
1) Floors sealed with LTP linseed oil/beeswax - after wiping up spillage
work over affected area with a little beeswax and buff to a shine.
2) Floors sealed with LTP Ironwax Gloss, LTP Ironwax Satin or
LTP Glaze Protector - use a little diluted LTP Grimex on a cloth to remove
spillage. Neutralise solution with water. When dry re-seal area with more
LTP Ironwax Gloss, LTP Ironwax Satin or LTP Glaze Protector.
3) Floors sealed with LTP Mattstone, LTP Colour Intensifier and Stainblock or LTP MPG Sealer - use a little diluted LTP Grimex on a cloth
to remove spillage. Neutralise solution with water. When dry re-seal area with more LTP Mattstone, LTP Colour Intensifier & Stainblock or LTP MPG Sealer.

POROSITY `QUICK TEST`

Place a teaspoon of water on the intensively cleaned or untreated dry surface. Time how long it takes for the water to fully absorb.

  • High Porosity - Water is absorbed within 5 minutes: 4 coats of sealer required in normal conditions.
  • Medium Porosity - Water is absorbed within 15 minutes: 3 coats of sealer required in normal conditions.
  • Low Porosity - Water is absorbed within 1 hour or longer: 2 coats of sealer required in normal conditions.
