Sealing Porcelain Tiles
Glazed Porcelain
Can be treated with LTP Glaze Protector to help embellish and enhance the appearance.
Un-Glazed Porcelain
For a matt finish use LTP Mattstone and maintain with LTP Waxwash. For a satin finish use LTP Glaze Protector and maintain with LTP Floorshine.
Polished Porcelain
Use LTP MPG Sealer for sealing polished porcelain. Apply to the surface evenly and leave for 20 minutes. Buff well to remove any excess product from the surface, this should be done whilst the solution is still wet on the surface. Maintain with LTP Waxwash.
Place a teaspoon of water on the intensively cleaned or untreated dry surface. Time how long it takes for the water to fully absorb.
- High Porosity - Water is absorbed within 5 minutes: 4 coats of sealer required in normal conditions.
- Medium Porosity - Water is absorbed within 15 minutes: 3 coats of sealer required in normal conditions.
- Low Porosity - Water is absorbed within 1 hour or longer: 2 coats of sealer required in normal conditions.
